Jennifer Irwin (Tutor)
I come from the beautiful farm lands of Connecticut, never heard a foreign language till I studied it in high school. Then I started to wish I had been born to foreign parents and grew up in a bilingual home. I fell in love with languages, and French became my passion and hobby. Graduating from Vassar College, I was exposed to many cultures and ideas. I studied music, but fell in love with the world. I learned from the best about art, literature, French, philosophy, and psychology, in addition to my focus in music….fast forward…..I was in the garment business for 30 years, and then reflecting back on the teachings of Vassar, that we must all give to the future of the world. While working in Mexico, I started teaching English to my coworkers to improve our business and communications. Then I fell in love with teaching (and Mexico, of course). To help people on their way to change their future is an incredible gift!

I teach both Maths and English for whatever test you need to prepare for. My record is 100% success on all fronts (TOEFL, IELTS, SAT, GMAT, & GRE); not my success, but my students’ success, which is much more important. It would be my pleasure to help YOU follow your dreams, and make them the reality of your tomorrows. I am very serious about my student’s goals, and every effort is taken to guide you, support you, and focus you towards your future. Life has gotten too competitive for us to sit back and just stay where we are! It is my pleasure to watch so many reach towards their futures and fly!!
Stavros Piperis (Tutor)
Hi guys! My name is Stavros Piperis , but… the important thing is that I’m here to ensure that you attain your goals concerning standardized test scores as painlessly and efficiently as possible. I have functioned as an SAT, TOEFL, GRE and GMAT tutor for the last seventeen years or so, but have also had considerable experience with GRE and TOEFL in particular as a candidate myself, when I was preparing for those tests for a Fulbright scholarship back in the nineties. I love humor- especially the kind I produce… but (relax) in sensible doses while I’m teaching. My students are routinely more than happy with their results and that’s probably the reason they flood me with spontaneous referrals most of the year. After all these years of work in this field (of tutoring) I can confidently assure you that I am synonymous to guarantee in the industry.
Gülsen Öztoprak (Counselor)
Gülsen loves counseling students and has been an active educational counselor since 2001 when she began working at the Cyprus Fulbright Commission as a Program Coordinator and EducationUSA Adviser.

During her time at the Commission, in addition to helping administer Fulbright programs, she also advised hundreds of students on studying in the U.S. and established a mentoring program to assist students through the U.S. university application cycle from start to finish. This mentoring program continues today under StudyUSA Higher Education Consultants Ltd. which was established in 2014 and is a non-profit organization she runs together with Anna Argyrou, also a partner in Applimates.

StudyUSA serves as the official EducationUSA Center for Cyprus and is supported by the U.S. Embassy Nicosia and U.S. Department of State. It is also an official representative of CIEE for the Summer Work and Travel, Internship and Professional Career Training Programs. Each year, the students mentored by Gulsen and Anna gain admission at diverse colleges and universities in the U.S. and are awarded millions of dollars in financial assistance.

Gulsen regularly attends conferences on higher education in the U.S. and other countries and has presented at some including NAFSA. She holds a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, USA and an M.A. in Teaching English to Young Learners from the University of York, UK.

She has twin 10 year old sons who love basketball and hope to one day play for the NBA!
